DIY intake ques...If you were going tp buy an SAFC-II
1. Would you use the largest intake piping that you could fit with the largest filter? Why or why not.
2. In choosing a filter I was looking at the Apexi Power Filter (supposedly has the best flow) however the largest universal filter they sell is for a 3" intake pipe. I will need something larger but want to stay away from oil-based filters such as K & N. I would prefer a dry type. Does anyone know of another dry type cone filter that had great reviews? Perhaps Amsoil's dry type cone filters???
3. Do you think the newer filters with the "velocity stack" (funnel opening in the top) help with more/better flow especially in a ram air scenario?
Thanks for the opinions in advance...

1. Depends on my application. Going too large will affect your low end power, but may opening up top end power (within reason). One reason why I went from the SRT to the K&N intake was because I lost low end on the SRT. I couldn't stand it because I drive in the city 90% of the time so I needed the torque down load. The K&N was essentially the same as my stock airbox as far as power goes (more up top though).
So not, I wouldn't use the largest pipe I could find. The SRT's 3.5" piping is already big as it is.
