Default Performance mods

I am currently putting a K&N intake and Tanabe exhaust kit on my IS350. I was curious what other HP performance additions I could add to my car. I have only seen the Tom's supercharger and LMS supercharger. Both of them were not that impressive based on what they put out. What else is out there?

how much horse power are you looking for? 700 - 1000? where can you use the full potential of it?
Personally, I think LMS super charge is good mod to have. +70 horse to the car is a lot of horse power right there...even with stock engine you'll never use the full potential of it for daily commute.

If you are trying to add HP you should begin by going more agressive on the intake and exhaust. Fujita makes almost twice as much power as the K&N intake and the LMS exhaust, although more expensive and not legal, will give you much more HP than the Tanabe, not to mention sound better. As for the forced air, the LMS will give you 80 HP increase at the wheels at only 5 PSI.

besides for the FI, there really are no significant "performance" mods, just "make more noise mods." There was a HUGE thread on the fact that the Fujita intake actually LOST power. The same argument could be made for all the intakes and exhausts that are currently out......

I have seen a DYNO chart showing 19 rwhp increase at 4500 rpm from the fujita intake on an IS350. In combination with the LMS exhaust, the power gain was apparent.

I think you are talking about the chart on the Fujita site, I have seen a chart on the MYIS forum by a reputable speed shop, but I know for sure the LMS exhaust has been proven to make good power and it was abundantly clear in the feel of the car. I don't think the same goes for the tanabe or hks cat back sys.

The LMS gets 80 hp at the wheel? That is much better than what I was reading. You are probably correct in that I will rarely push the car needing all that after installing that much power. Besides having a dedicated track car it rarely makes sense to have any car that has 500hp or similar but many people have it.

To be sure you understand, when I say LMS forced air set up I'm talking about the supercharger not the exhaust.

The dyno's I've seen here (before they're deleted) show ~300 at the rear wheels, which is only a ~35 bhp bump.

I can promise you the Fujita WILL NOT make twice the hp as the K&N-

I have seen the R&D center at K&N, and based on the testing I saw them doing their, there is absolutely NO WAY any air filter is going to make twice the power they will-

I highly doubt Fujita has a more technically advanced R&D department then K&N

Maybe 1-2 more but NOT TWICE

it could be twice the k&n could make 1hp and the fujita 2 hp . either way, besides FI, there really are no "performance mods."
