Default 1999 gs400/vvti tt swap

how to swap jdm turbos for the usdm turbos?is it hard to do? do i just take the jdm turbos off and put the usdm ones on? my second turbo was gone so i went ahead and bought a good used set of usdm ones. anyone know? how about a write up? is there any difference between the two sets other then the egr plumbing and the blades?

It will be a direct swap for the most part. I think the exhaust flange might be different but you should be able to just swap it from your old Jdm turbos with out a problem.

mmm, the part that is different is the part where the downpipe bolts too. You should be able to swap that piece over pretty easily.

Thumbs up SimplyZBes

The Aristo Manifold needs a jdm or custom downpipe. The exhaust flange is different from the USDM. The USDM turbo's requires a more available downpipe. You can use the megan racing one which is like $129-$150. If you got the extra dough, I would recommend the Tanabe one which costs around $250-$275 but well worth it.

I think it would matter because the dimensions of the compartment are different from where the engine sits...don't quote me on that but I think it is.
