Default Any Updates On The "Revised" S&S Headers?

Hey gang,

Anyone bought the revised version of their headers? Revised meaning they improved the welding around the headers.. Just want to see if anyone still has cracking of their headers after S&S revised it?

Thanks

Well I just bought a set, but I haven't received them yet to give any feedback. I was told that they're rewelded reinforced so they won't have the cracking issue. From what I've heard, the second batch was pretty good with little to no issues. I could be mistaken, but I've been watching out for this too.

I put mine on a couple months ago and they are still running strong although JPM had to fix a hole on the passenger side that they were shipped with. Of course S&S refused to compensate the labor to do this which was very disappointing.

Gains are noticeable as I would compare it to the SRT intake.

I added the TC immediately after the headers which blows everything out of the water comparing bang for your buck.

I just talked to S&S last week and they are out of stock available for these headers and are scheduling production for more within four weeks. I take it the new release headers will be remedied and welded right the first go-round?

Sounds like the prior release headers are all out in the market now.....should be safe to order?

i did order mines and received my headers just last week. like an idiot i forgot to take pictures but they did weld up the area where I've seen the cracks happen. also, when I placed the order with Betty, she confirmed that the ones they are making now are the revised ones.

Does the headers "enhance" the V8 sound combined with exhaust and intake? Just want to see if you already have an aftermarket exhaust w/ intake, what if any does the headers "add" to the sound?

It does make it throatier and deeper.

I have not heard them personally, but others who have done this mod have said this about the headers sound.

Simply because the OEM restrictions to keep it quiet are not preserved on the S&S in favour of smoother flow for performance gains.

I took vids before and after. It does sound a bit throatier.

Btw, I have a K&N intake and Tanabe Medallion Tourings.

Before SS headers

After SS headers
