What if an LSD was available for the IS250/350?
If there was an availablity for a fair priced aftermarket LSD (1.5 or 2 way) would you buy it for your 2nd Gen IS?

Ever hear of posi traction? where both tires are spinning when you do a burnout? open diff is when you lift the rear spin one tire one way the the other tire spins the opposite. We gots open diff, thou they say there is a mini LSD... yea w/e. The reason Lexus never put LSD on our cars is due to the VDIM, they spent alot of money developing it and if you keep it on, you really dont need a LSD in a non-racing application.
KAAZ LSD have plates inside with can be 'tuned' to allow how much torque gets xferd to the other wheel. 60%/80%/100%. 100% thou is something only desired by 1/4mi racecars. That is a simple explination, im sure someone will post a more in depth answer, i gotta start getting rdy, going out for dinner

I'll try to explain why you might need an LSD in simple terms. Most of the time you only need an LSD for a racing or high performance cornering situation. The physics works like this -- let's say you are making a tight right-hand turn at speed. The weight of your car shifts towards the outside of the turn, taking weight off the inside (in this case the right side) tires and loading more weight onto the outside (left side) tires. If you corner tight enough or fast enough, so much weight shifts to the outside that your inside wheels start to slip. In an open diff car the inside wheel loses traction and you waste power spinning it. This in turn reduces the amount of power you can put down as you accelerate out of a turn.
If you have an LSD it would counteract this and transfer more power to the outside tire. LSD helps you apply more power exiting the turn. Realistically, I don't think most people really need LSD if they leave VDIM on. If you are a hardcore racer or have money to burn then sure, get it.
