in terms of hp gains, there's not much difference between all of the intakes made for the IS:
you could go w/ a joe_z/plp pipe w/ a drop-in filter
shortrams - aem, injen, fujita, K&N, SRT (w/ race ecu)
only true cold air - lms
(note: watch out for the earlier/1st gen intakes - some have thrown cels)

SRT is going to be your best bet in terms of HP gains, however it comes with high price. You could find a new one over on .net for about $300.oo though.

yeah but srt comes with ecu upgrade and doesnt add that much more. i might as well get an aem intake and the ecu separate. plus i intend on going bigger with the computer. i think the cold airs gonna add a little more than the short, i was just looking for some reassurance.

But the SRT has been proven to add the most HP

SRT w/ R-ecu will be the best bet if you just want to keep it a simple N/A setup. The R-ecu adjust your A/F ratio good enough to make decent power.

However, if you want to fine tune your car, or want to go full out N/A setup, than there are some other possible directions you can take...

1. LMS CAI or KN FIPK w/ Apexi SAFC-II <<<< Probably most popular choice
2. LMS CAI or KN FIPK w/ EMU <<<< Tune other things as well as A/F ratio
3. LMS CAI or KN FIPK w/ Full Standalone of your choice <<< Big Baller Status

PS: other thing to consider is whether or not if you are planning on boosting your car later on. If so, I wouldn't waste money on some of the N/A goodies.

If I were to get the SRT, how much of a benefit would getting an exhaust be? All these exhausts have a 4.5" outlet which is just too much for me...anybody know of a less flashy, smaller outlet exhaust?
