Pros/Cons of Changing from a 3.26 to 3.113 LSD Ratio

NO I am not saying 3.77 is a waste. It gives you the most torque at the wheels (of the 3 ratios listed) from zero to 38mph. It is again superior from 46mph to 59mph and again from 71mph to 90mph and finally from 108mph to 128mph.
I am making the point that at the other speeds the other ratios have the advantage.
Now, another consideration is gear change time. Our cars shift slowly. The more shifts made the more time is lost. Looking at the chart you will see that the stock car only needs 1 shift to 60mph vs 2 shifts for the 3.77 gears. It also needs 3 shifts to 100mph vs the 2 shifts for the stock car. So, measuring 0-60 or 0-100 the 3.77 often does not improve. BUT, in the ranges it has the advantage it IS DEFINITELY an improvement. Of course in FEEL the 3.77 will FEEL better and torqueyer because for the most part it is. And FEEL is the most important component of FUN.

I'm not sure about anyone here but if I'm racing someone from a 30/40mph roll or from a stop I probably won't race past say...100 or 110mph because then it just gets REAL dangerous AND any gains from either car would be very subtle such as having to go 120mph for about 20 seconds or more to come back from a 1 car trail. Also, keep in mind the longer you drive at those speeds the better chances of you, him or both of you getting BUSTED!

GS Fonzy,
Stop - meaning from a traffic light. We have a lot of 4 lane (2 lanes each way) roads that do NOT constitute as highways and are NOT residential roads either. That would be a good, safe road to drag on albeit that their are no other cars on the road at that time.
30/40 mph roll - a lot of people like to start a race at around this speed; commonly a highway. IMHO I think it's a lot more exciting rather than starting at 80 or 90. A LOT more activity happens at lower speeds on any car. Even if it's a high performance modded TT Supra; as fast as the pull is at around 110 it is usually that much greater at lower speeds. "Usually" meaning that you didn't put ridiculous, non-common lower gearing to "purposely" have a more responsive top end rather than have it down low.
I agree with you as far as bringing your car to the track to see if recent mods made a difference. Again, IMHO if my car isn't getting AT LEAST low/mid 13's in the 1/4 mile I think bringing it to the track is a waste of time...because there are SOOOOOOOO many cars out there at the track that are MUCH faster than that with little or no modding. I, just like all other 2GS owners out there wish that my car could be real fast without FI; I must resent the fact but it's impossible. The car will be quick but NOT real fast. You can DUMP over $5K strickly on go-fast bolt-ons and it MIGHT make you get a 13.8 in the 1/4 mile. My next car whatever it is will be an animal or have the POTENTIAL to be an animal. For now, I'll just love my GS for what it is.
