Red face Intake Question

I have the K&N intake with the heat shield. Now I know we all complain about the intakes sucking in hot engine air but would it make a difference if we enclosed the heat shield completely so you were just bring in outside air? Would we gain hp lose or stay the same

Basically cover up the opening above the intake filter to make it air tight as possible. So it was a complete enclosed box

Just curious

If you could actually seal the enclosure, then it would basically be like the stock air box, but with a cone filter. To me, that seems like a downgrade.
