I have no interest in headers for various reasons (stock is fine for me, worried about inspection, etc)

I'll see if i can get a couple more flanges cut today, and start looking into a design.
I assume that top end power would be preferred since i've all ready heard of traction issues w/ the IS350.

How about mid-range to top-end?
Also, is it possible to take this into consideration? Lobuxracer brings up a very good point.

They're pretty, but they have one (I consider) serious drawback. The O2 sensor bung is only sampling the #1 cylinder. As long as the rest of the engine is fueling the same as #1, you're OK. If it isn't, you could detonate any other cylinder to death and the ECM would only be able to use the knock sensor to avert disaster instead of adjusting fuel to properly compensate. It's a trade off. There's no convenient place to connect the OEM sensor so it can sample all cylinders without requiring a harness extension or a different O2 sensor when you buy the header.

well when i said top end, we obviously will look to gain across as much of the rev range as possible, but i am going to design towards a higher RPM gain than a lower ... if that makes better sense.
As far as the o2 sensor set up, we could move them way back to the collector area, but we would have to extend the sensors. The O2 sensor still isn't going to do a whole lot for detonation, thats what the knock sensor is designed to do. The o2 sensor sampling 3 cylinders instead of one really is just another way to do it, i don't see it as better or worse. if one cylinder starts to run lean, it will just over fuel the other two in that bank, trying to fix it. This is one of the reasons i'm not a fan of the 100k tune, best way to keep an eye on this is to read the spark plugs, or get really crazy and install a multiple oxygen sensor or EGT set up.

sorry wasn't able to get the flanges cut yesterday, but i am going to ask you guys to make an "im interested in headers for my 350" list going, just so i have an idea of if its worth it to do a project like this. This thread seemed to lose interested yesterday.

I'm totally interested in headers. This thread seemed to loose steam probably because another Header thread was started.

yeah i saw the other one as well. to give you an idea I'm in the situation where i have the 350 on the lift w/ out exhaust manifolds in it now, but basically need proof that it wouldn't be a waste of money to build a header. The turbo we are going to use on this car is back ordered, so right now its just a rock, and would be the perfect time to design the header. (and no this isn't just a customers car, its here for R&D purpose) unfortunately its not 100% my decision on if we should push this project forward or not.

This thread is in response to fstrnldr's request (from LMS) in this thread. He wants to guage interest to see if there is enough market to justify development.

"No, I like being lame."
That option rather pressures voters into voting for the other options, no?
I would suggest that the option should be changed into a simple "no."
Oh, and for the poll, I voted the "lame" option .
Personally, I bought this car for luxury...not performance.
If I wished for performance, I would have purchased a 335i.
So with my IS, I'd rather take the money and purchase an aero kit.
