Default Possible exhaust system upgrade

I am starting to consider upgrading my exhuast system on my 03 'GS430. I am looking for something that looks stock and is not super super loud. I also dont want something that will produce an annoying drone on the highway. Any suggestions or advice?....I am new to the GS world.

Borla exhaust...it's a rear section, provides good HP gains and is not loud at all; very Nice exhaust IMHO. I have this particular exhaust and many on CL have it as well. You should be able to find it for around $500 on a variety of websites. Good Luck!

First off your not going to get any "major" HP/TQ gains from just an exhaust but it definitely helps especially when doing future engine mods; maybe 6 - 10 HP.

http://www.suprastore.com/gs300gs400se.html

They have it on sale for $489.95 that's the lowest I've seen; everything is between $550 and $650. Good luck!

Just wait untill someone puts a l-tuned or borla system up for sale in the classifieds....you'll save a bunch of money that way...

I liked my Borla but like my Tanabe medallion touring even better.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much at all out of a rear section, hp wise.

From experience, does the borla rear section have any sort of an annoying drone while cruising at high speed?

No, no droning what so ever and you can't beat the lifetime warranty (well...1 million mile warranty at that). Be advised eventhough this is a rear section only, a cat-back system will not yield that much more HP/TQ. Borla put a lot of R & D to make this rear section perform as good as many full cat-backs. Anytime you hear an exhaust giving 20-30 HP...it is BS.

I've got the carson tuned catback on order. Should be in by end of month. I'm thinking it will be very similar to the l-tuned, but with a bit more grunt. The stock setup has no character at all IMO, so anything is an improvement.

I just purchased the Borla rear section today....installing tomorrow. I let you know what I think.

I was trying to find a L-tuned rear section and I didnt have any luck.

Is there much of diff. between the l tuned rear section and the borla?
