Default So what intake should I get?

Alright well I'm looking to put an intake in my car and I just want a few ideas. I'm a total beginner when it comes to this stuff but I want to install it myself so my first question is what intake could a beginner like myself put in? And I also want an intake that puts some more pony's in my car. Preferably Id like to hear from people who have actually installed a different intake in their car and either notice a difference or have it dyno'd before and after and prove theres a difference in speed and/or acceleration. So I would like recommendations on an intake that 1. a beginner can install, and 2. an intake that adds some sort of noticeable difference to the car. I dont really want to be suckered into a intake that does nothing (or slows down a car in my brothers case lol). Thanks!

if you want hp gains get the JoeZ intake, the other intakes for the IS are short ram intakes, meaning its only for sound, and actually robs you power

Where is the best place to purchase the Joe-Z pipe and K&N filter? Is a heat shield necessary? Or is it just recommended? Thank you
