Go for the GS430.

Talk with JPI about a GS460, GS500, or even the GS540. A higher compression NA GS might be right up your alley. It will drive as stock, just with much more power, have much greater torque, and you won't have to deal with maintaning turbos. Plus it won't break the bank.

Fwiw, a GS540 w/ ~450HP NA can hang with a MKIV Supra TT BPU, and make more HP and TQ down low. That's food for thought.

It's all very innovative. JPI is releasing a stroker kit for the Lexus V8 that according to JPI can run on the stock ECU.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=297380

Many of the GS's on this board have the right look, and are looking for more power. The guys want reliable power that can just be installed and be sent down the road. JPI's stroker kit is just that. It give Supra TT levels of power, gobs and gobs of tq, and will keep the stock tranny and ecu. Check it out and give JPI and call or PM, he's a wealth of knowledge on the GS's

Default Honestly, If you are not familiar with turbos or turbo cars->

I would just buy a gs400 or gs430 for a piece a mind and more performance. If you are planning to boost your GS300 you have to do it correctly, that means using a STANDALONE to control your ECU. Just that alone is a $2000 investment. Build your Tranny with Clutch packs, Sprag gears, Valve body, Higher stall, that is $2500 to $4000 depending where you go. Lets not forget the actual Turbo kit, from $2000( XS Power) all the way to $10000 (SRT, Turbo East, JPI, and PFS) for Piping, Manifold, Turbo, Wastegate, blah, blah, blah. Yes you can cut corners like alot of people do, but I guarantee you will regret it and your car will be up for sale shortly. Do a search and read all the horror stories from boosting a 2JZGE VVTII Engine. If you are not mechanically inclined sell your GS300 and buy a GS400 or GS430 or buy a boosted car from the factory.
Later, Jose

I have no knowledge of the turbo upgrade but i know many have done it and love it. From what I understand, the I6 engine can be upgraded, tuned and configured to far surpass the V8 engines.

just get a cl amg, or e55 amg, i am saving up for one,a mid 12 sec car from factory ...coming back to lexus, if i was you i would get a gs400/gs430 invest another 3-4k do all the bolt on upgrades you would be running high 13s all day, with no issues what so ever , that is fast for everyday driving and reliable ...now if you want a car with more power and not for everyday driving get a gs300 and turbo it

What is the biggest bore you can run on a 2jz. It's 3.4L. What is stroker kit on the 2uz, It's 5.65L . Which one would I have to pick? huhhhh I can run half of the boost compare to the little mini-me 2jz and still beat it. One down side of the uz family though. There isn't any room but with creative thinking will get us there .

I could not agree more, but a question must be asked. Do you want a street fighter or a point and shot car? The 2jz family has tranny options manual and auto. The uz family is not that easy. I would love to make mine a street fighter and have found more problems than solutions. I hope in time we will have more solutions.

We offer a tranny adaptor plate to fit the V160. It will depends on what kind of budget you are in. I can't seem to stay in my budget when doing a big project

The V160 tranny works well with the V8? Is there any problem with the V8 computer and the V160? Also, What kind of budget will you need? Ball park? Thanks for the help

I'll help Jason out here with a little info. Here's a pic of the V160 attached to the V8. You can see the adapter plate.

Also here's a small video of the same car with the V160

Default Gs400/430

Try listen to those that actually own/have modded any Turbo car:

Great, fun power gains, boost fun
also F'N headaches equal to the fun

My AWD Talon Turbo TSI (Modded), blasts consitent low/mid 13s
I always ache at boost, oil leaks, gaskets, idle, fouled plugs,104 Octane, missfires, changing the plugs out every 6 months, etc Tons of Fun + Tons of money and Time.

My GS400 for everyday driving 0-60 (5.6) 1/4mi 14.4 300HP stock
Reliable and can pound on pretty much 9 out of 10 cars on the road.
