Communist, just kidding, but not really.

Yeah i vote keep the 350 for now, and just trade it for an IS-F when it comes out, that seems like the only logical solution, or buy a g35 and TT it, those things can make crazy power, and still have a touch of japanese luxury.

Either trade up for an IS-F when it comes out, or wait (could be a long time) for someone to come out with a proper TT kit. The 2GR-FSE engine has huge potential; it's just going to take a lot of time and money for a proper TT kit to come out for the engine.

As always, it's not the engine proper that is the stumbling block, it's the engine management. Once that is cracked, all bets about what this thing will do are off.

Default Compression Ratio on 350's..?

Of course, since the 2GR has both port and direct, the port injector maps would have to change to support any substantial boost. Returnless fuel systems for NA engines seem to have defaulted to fixed fuel pressures instead of manifold referenced pressures. I'm sure that's not good when you want to go FI, but it works fine in stock form.

I remember reading something or hearing something about how high our compression ratio is....What are the exact numbers...My dad didn't believe me when I told him how high that I heard it was.

Depends on what you're willing to live without. The OEM unit uses CAN bus to talk to the other ECUs onboard, so you'll either need an ECM that talks CAN protocol and understands Toyota's implementation, or you'll have to live without the many devices the ECM uses including the push button keyless ignition, VDIM, automatic transmission control, etc...Aftermarket with plug n' play functionality for this will be a long time coming.

Has Toyco's engine management system ever been cracked? Do they use the same "encryption" for all their cars?

I didn't think there was any aftermarket ECU that would work at all on the 350 due to the 12 fuel injectors. I think that was the reason why the Discount Tire drift car swapped in a different motor.

There are aftermarket ECMs that support 12 cylinder engines. No reason you couldn't program it to work 12 injectors in a six cylinder engine.

It's just all the other problems you'll need to solve to control the rest of the functions the ECM does that are not part of any aftermarket solution available today.

Damn Lobux.....How did you become so knowledgeable on automotive computer's? I would give my left testy to have somebody tune my car. Not that it could get much better than what it is with just the A/F ratio, but when I programmed my 04' Tahoe I gained 72 wrhp...WITH 24" WHEELS...

I've been researching them for about 10 years ever since I wanted to do something special with my Supra. I've also been doing computer hardware stuff for the last 28 years, so it's not foreign to me at all.
