Actually, it is possible that my test method gave pessimistic results for the silencers since the ECU may not have completely adjusted the fuel trims for them. It might have been running slightly rich with the silencers in, and slightly lean with the silencers removed.

If it was off, it would be very slight. ST trim adjusts very quickly. I doubt LT trim was affected by any of the changes because the differences in AFR would be so slight, and really only noticeable under heavy load. Part throttle cruise would not see any difference because even the smallest of silencers will flow enough to make the 20 - 30 hp you need for part throttle cruise.

If you wanted to trim it, you would need to do some runs at 60 - 70% (not over 78% because it goes into open loop at >78%) throttle so the ECM could relearn the fuel curve under load - or run your fuel trim device again...

The first run is without the silencers, right? It seems to me like you can notice a difference.

I don't think anyone can notice (feel) a 5 ft-lbs difference, and it certainly is insigficant on the street. If I were going to some sort of track event, I would totally remove them.

Hey Gernby, you're always the first guy, who test things out. I just want to say thanks for taking the initiative, and giving the tips to other members....including me.....

1. piggy-back ecu.
2. The spacers.

You should keep the film rolling when your coming back toward the camera. Looks like you had to brake somewhat hard to stop before rolling over it. Looks good.

Glad to see you didn't get a ticket this time.

Are you getting me confused with someone else? I haven't been pulled over in about 3 years.

How much weight does the silencers ad? They don't seem to be made out of aluminium.

On a side note, I haven't got a speeding ticket yet either with this car. I think it's pretty good considering it can attract attention being a luxury sports car and all.

I didn't weigh the silencers, but they wouldn't be significant. If I was going to do anything where a couple pounds mattered, they would be removed anyway just for the extra couple HP.

Gernby, at first I thought they were too quiet after installing them, but after driving in the car the sound is just right.

Glad you like them. The only thing that is bugging me about them right now is that they rattle. They either need a 2nd bolt, or I need to bend the cone slightly to make it a tighter fit. I guess I could also put a small piece of steel wool behind them, but it would probably rust.
