I'm about to do the VVT-i swap on my 99 GS and I need to know what downpipe to use. Is there an aftermarket one I can use or do I have to make a custom one? I've searched online and can find nothing conclusive. So for anyone that has done the swap any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Most likely you're gonna have to go custom. The other option is to find a premade downpipe made for the Aristo V300 in Japan. Also, if you go that route it will only work with the stock twins. If you upgrade to big single, that downpipe will not work. I suggest you just goto a shop and have one custom made to ensure a perfect fit.

I think I might still have my 3 inch megan downpipe over at the shop. Its the one I was using when I 1st did my swap...

 

Is the megan a bolt in piece? or is it for a different car and you had to modify it to make it work? or is it for a different car and it bolts in?

 

I will call the guys at the shop for you and find out but I remember it being a straight bolt on. I have it laying around at the shop cuz we went a little bigger when i redid my whole exhaust system and went 3.5 inch down pipe which I know they had to make custom but I remember looking at the megan one on the floor in one piece with no weld or custom bends to it. I'll find out.
