Maybe the molded TTE lip makes it more sturdy. Jeff post a DIY on the lip molding.

The intercooler looks so mean behind the stock cutout.

Just got my new freshly rebuilt shortblock and racebuilt transmission in. Some pix below. Just have to wait about another week for the machine shop to finish up the engine head and I'll be ready to drop this baby in the car

A few pix of the new parts.

black blocks make it hard to trace oil leaks should they arise. otherwise the project looks sick.

nice work jeff

Started on the engine pull today. Getting a bit cold outside at night so we called it a day lol. Started working on it kinda late in the day so didn't get much daylight. Worked on it for about 3-4 hours. Pulled off the intercooler piping, intercooler, a bunch of the stuff in the way, and drained the necessary fluids. Gonna start again tomorrow in the morning. Hopefully be ready to drop in the new motor by tomorrow night

Haha, I didn't even notice. I just copied and pasted it from the post above on this page...just changed the number only.

You know, I'm thinking that I should get my engine bay repainted while I'm at it lol. I mean the motor is gonna be out and everything

its easy to repaint it... wrap all your wire looms and lines in aluminum foil, scuff with 320 dry or 400 wet and have somebody spray it. Won't take more than a pint of paint.
