Default Which mod first?

I am looking to get an exhaust [Tanabe] and an intake [K&N]. I am getting them at different times though so which one do you think i should get first, the intake or the exhaust.

Get the exhaust...intake is eh.....not going to give you as much growl. Neither will give you much in the way of performance though.

Of course exhaust.
1. Exhaust is noticable to exterior, and you can feel the sound and the smooth air flow right the way.
2. No sign of real gain on any intake yet!

No brainer question right?

I like the intake just because of sound quality and lower cost.

Until someone (including Tanabe) makes a more efficient exhaust system, I wouldn't jump first with an aftermarket exhaust.

I have both and enjoy both improved sound quality, fitting of the IS350 and also the look of the tips. I started with the Tanabe, then added the K & N shortly after. I do notice a difference in performance....just by how the rear wheels respond when nailing it from a dead stop, in a way they did not before, but nothing outstanding...realized this at the time of purchase and was looking more to improve the rear end appearance and better sound.

Get the biggest bang for your buck. IMO get new shoes first, drop it, then get exhaust.

I personally got my intake first, thats just because i didn't have the cash for an exhaust. Then i found a good deal on the exhaust a couple of weeks later. The exhaust is something i would go for first.

light mods > intake > exhaust > suspension work > exterior work (wheels, tires, kits, whatever you want)

Tanabe first! (I got my Tanabe in two weeks ago. ). You're going to like
the sound of it. Then, when you get use to that awsome sound...
