Default Impulse buy, just ordered an SAFC 2...

Not sure if this is a good price but I went to a friend's speed shop last night and ordered an Apexi SAFC 2 (black face) and a pair of 9005 Blue Zone 4300K Xenon bulbs for $315+tax. Can't wait to get this SAFC installed and tuned! I will do a baseline dyno run (TM's, K&N FIPK and Borlas) and post SAFC 2 dyno run when I get this thing installed.

YES!! Definitely do this.

I had the same TM/K&N/Borla mod awhile ago and was always curious to see how well it would do on a dyno. I was also thinking about getting the SAFC to tune it further, but I put everything on hold. I wish I could get another set of TM plugs. I hate the denso plugs I'm running now

Gsteg,

Why do you WISH you could buy TM plugs? Just buy 'em...or did TM go out of business or something?

BTW, something funny...in your sig, I too use to own a 1992 Acura Legend LS 4dr. That was my baby for the longest...I can see why she's your garage queen! lol. I miss it sometimes; very classy car.

It seems like a good price, I think the SAFC-II alone usually goes for around $300+.

I had the TM plugs until a friend of mine insist I go back to denso since he said he did not really trust the TM plugs. Well I gave in after awhile and boy did I feel a bit of power loss. I can't spend another $110 on TM plugs because the Denso in my cars have only 2k miles on them. Not to mention, I paid a good amount for them too

She may not be as smooth or comfortable as the GS, but she makes some awesome engine sound when you floor it My GS4 is too quiet at WOT

I recently put in my 98 GS3, a set of TM's, K&N cone filter on a cheap ebay air pipe (for the MAF) and an Apexi NEO. (Stock exhaust)

Damn what a difference, (no dyno, street tuned), but it wheel spins so much more and the low down torque is great. And I LOVE the WOT induction roar!

I plan on a dyno run soon.

I got the Apexi Neo $233 + fast shipping from ebay. This seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/APEXi...spagenameZWDVW

So, you have a GS300 with just an intake, Torque Master plugs and an SAFC and you are able to spin the wheels???!! Are you break-torquing or are you just mashing the gas? The reason why I ask is because I don't think a lot of GS300 owners are able to break traction just by mashing the gas even if they have an intake and exhaust. Perhaps the SAFC tuned DOES make a big difference...good to hear now I'm even more excited to get this thing installed!

Fortunately, the GS300 guys are able to uitlize all their torque by their 3000rpm stall torque convertor. I know my friend's stock GS300 can break traction from a standstill

I get no traction at all lol. If I launch my car hard off the line, the tires just spin thru about half of 3rd gear until I get traction. As for a non boosted GS3 spinning the tires off the line, it's not possible unless you brake torque the car.

I was thinking of this item as well. Let me know if you feel any difference on the butt meter.

I'm getting one of these from a fellow a member, I know it won't make a world of difference since I only have exhaust and intake but I'll see.

If you check out previous threads on CL using the search function there was a member here with JUST an intake and exhaust and added an SAFC II. He had it dyno tuned and his results were flat out awesome! If I recall correctly I think he gained around 26+/-whp and 38+/-wtq!!! Roughly 34hp and 48tq at the crank!!! Not bad for just a good A/F tuning with intake and exhaust. If more and more of us can replicate this outcome, I think you will see more and more SRT w/race ECU's in the classified section...lol
