Default Weapon-R Intake Experience Anyone

I saw this intake in a post on here and it looks pretty good. Is anybody familar with this intake, hp gains / sound? I was also thinking about also using the cold intake box; how will this affect performance on an intake?

Dragon Intake = CRAP !!

Secret Weapon Intake =

I had one on my old ES300 and it was great, as for HP gains, it was barely noticeable, maybe 1 -2 hp. But the sound was BEAUTIFUL and i noticed a small increase in gas mileage. IMO it was a nice intake ...

I've never had their intakes in any of my cars. I've partied with them at SEMA though...good guys but don't know about their intakes.

The dragon intake is garbage (all it does is make a roar at 3000 RPM), though my cousin likes it as a showpiece for his Golf VR6 since it is pretty and unique for down here and scores extra points in car shows. The secret weapon intake shown here, http://weapon-r.com/english/index.ph...oducts_id=5335 has some better engineering and I feel it is the best cost-effective intake for the RX series (unless someone wants to do something custom like I do) or because something like the CP-E intake for the Toyota Solara costs way too much, http://www.cp-e.com/2017.html but has better engineering in my opinion than Weapon-R.

In addition, I go a step further and add a ram intake to get more air because at 7411 feet, which is the elevation where my track is at, you need all the air you can get...and cough...dirty air at that.

Man talk about bashing them.. They made great filters back in the days. Buddy of mine gained almost 30hp with just their filter on his Supra TT with hardpipes. Not sure about now. Like any company some products are great and some are bad.

people bash them and call them "rice" because they made filters for cars that most companies wouldn't touch...that's called marketing smarts. So the cars that they made filters for, rolled around with their decals. They were EVERYWHERE. Slow cars with their filters. So people associated their name with the riced out slow cars. And because they were based in the Bay Area and not Japan, it wasn't "JDM" enough...

coulda done the same thing with just taking the filters off a supra TT. horrible example. plus their filters are proven to NOT filter out as much as an OEM filter.

yeah they did make intakes for everything, but there was hardly at RnD for any of the intake systems. they were only RnD'd to fit. thats it. research it if you want
