i just got off the phone with LMS and currently they have a cold air intake that was engineered with their supercharger kit. i am supposed to be going there to check it out this week. do you guys think it would be a good idea to install the CAI without getting the Supercharger? the guy said that it would work fine and operate normally as a CAI, but no one has done it before and i would be the first. he told me in the past he has lost power doing this on one other car, the infiniti FX35.

Depends on the design. Not every CAI is going to get power as I have learned through experience.

I remember a while back when LMS was talking about a CAI they said they had to drill a decent size hole in the engine bay to get the intake to bend down behind the fog light.

Try it if you really want to, but there's other intakes out there..and also, how much is it?
