Is anyone who is actually using the hks super hybrid air filter experiencing any performance gains? I am currently using a joez pipe with the stock air box and have been contemplating getting a filter but have heard arguements for both sides.

I was going to buy an HKS but went with a K&N after reading these test results.
The HKS was rated very poor in filtering.
Cone filters, not drop ins but same Blitz,HKS,K&N and Apexi. All had the same filtering matierial as their own cone filters.

just stick with your stock filter and make sure you change it often. These drop in's are just pretty much worthless.

It is important to note that new / clean filters are better for performance, but worse for the engine. If you change your filter more often than necessary, your oil will get dirty quicker, and your engine will wear faster.

What do you mean by "that's just how I treat my cars"? Do you think that you are helping the car by changing the air filter so frequently? You are actually reducing the life of your engine by replacing the filter so often.

A fresh air filter lets in more dirt.A filter actually filters better when it get a bit dirty.

^^^ Between our Engine Panel Filter & Carbon Filter...

I highly doubt if any "dirt" is making it through both of them, when running the OEM set up...

Now, we can open up a whole other discussion for those running open element air intake filters, but its pretty self explanatory for those..

No filter gets everything out of the air.
