Default Reasoning behind lack of T/C or S/C's?

well, to be honest off the start im really not too educated about turbos and supers.. i know they are forced induction, increase fuel/oxygen ratios (i think..), and make more power... but what im really not keen on is why there arent many out for the ISx50.. is it because they are new? or is it simply difficult to make one to fit or work well on the engine... i've seen stuff about the lms s/c and some others, that really arent cost effective and such, and was wondering why they are so highly priced, and why they produce so little power increase... anyone want to inform me on this?? thx - oh and i know my 250 isnt much of a racer, im not really that interested in purchasing one (soon that is), just more curious as to why there arent many available options

thanks

High compression is one big problem that limits the amount of boost you can run... plus engine management is pretty tough between the Lexus ECU being encrypted, two different sets of injectors (port and direct), plus variable values...all adds up to the LMS kit only running 5 pounds boost so as to still work ok with the stock engine management and not cause detonation with the high compression.

There's ways around all of the above, but they're all VERY expensive.

sooo basically in order to make them work u'd have to change alot of how the engine is made?.. is there anyway that t-s/c's could be made to effectivly suit engines like ours?

Any way? Sure. Any way that's cost effective? No.

If you have tons of money to waste, then yea it can all be done.

But high compression and a untuner friendly ECU makes everything very difficult.

Seriously? Why buy an untested platform? Why not just get a Supra and toast them both repeatedly?

No idea what they cost. I'm not selling mine. I did see one in Miami with a bad engine for $13.8k yesterday.

supra's aren't the only 8-9 second cars. Hell you can get wrx's with 1000hp in the upper 8's. For a LOT less money then a supra. One problem with that is...Supra's still look sooooo damn cool and wrx's look like crap. Yes i know this is subjective.

I was behind a supra about 2 months ago and was just blown away still by the design of the back end of that car. It still looks great all these years later.

Sunday at the track I saw a white street legal supra run a 9.29 and that was not launching that hard.

if you want lots of mods for this class of car it's either the 335 or G35/37. The G's have tons of mods available for their engine.

You can spend for a engine swap if you feel power is really needed. I think it would cost less than to do FI on the ISx50 V6s.
