Cool Sad day for the IS250 ???

Is there anyway to substantially increase the power on this thing.. lol.
I love the AWD for what its worth but i was on my way home from the gym and a scion xB wanted to race and i didn't beat it by that much, and yesterday a integra schooled me ??? ... (be it that i don't have any of my parts on during the winter but still..)

Any one else have race experiences with their IS 250 feel free to share :O

headers........yes i have raced other people before. i raced a kid in a civic si hatch with modds, surprisingly he could not loose me and i got him by a nose....

headers would do wonders for this car, really open it up

Do you suggest any specific brand of headers?

megan has a set, but they do not seem to well made and the pipe diameter is not rightly sized.

jun-tw from their dyno has shown big gains on the 250 with a full cat back exhaust.

mazzuri super headers, last thing that was know about a week ago was that he would have them finished up and dyno tested in a week, these would be equal length like the jun's but will have no cats.

to me i haven't seen a change in the routing of the exhaust across all three model lines, so to me it's pretty safe to assume it will clear the awd since the awd components are pretty low and somewhat out of the way of the exhaust. this is just my speculation that they will work for us as well as the awd model. mazzuri's will be a great bang for the buck, and he is building them on a 250 6speed awd. the headers he made for the is300 showed very good gains. no way to tell if they fitunless if we test fitted them on our car or if someone can get part numbers of all 3 header and down tube assemblies for all 3 models?

i'm waiting for the mazzuri to come out with something and see if they will work for us, and if not then maybe he can make something for us awd guys.....

interesting... I have a 3GS, but I think v6s and v8s respond more to bolt-ons then 4 cylinders.

there isn't "headers" on the car currently. just an exhaust manifold that flows through the cats. not efficient for power.

now if they had came out with an awd 350 i would be all over it

interesting... mines a 250, the only time i beat an SI was because the kid couldn't drive. If driven correctly, even a stock SI is faster than us, mostly because of weight differences

Wow!!! Kinda interesting. Well...on bhp wise the 250 isn't that much from the Si or even the VW GTi. So can't really say that the 250 will beat alot of those types of cars until parts come along for them.

The IS250 has average power and gets great gas mileage. It was not intended to be used in acceleration contests. When someone buys a 250 they must understand what they bought. It looks like you have bolted on the basic mods that will give you a little more power and better response. You are not going to be able to get anywhere near the performance of the 350 without spending mega bucks. Only a suggestion but if you need more power to play, you may want to consider getting a different car. Sounds like the IS350 is what you would want. I can tell you the 350 is the perfect blend of luxury and amazing power. I've lined up against several cars that I thought would be a problem and to my surprise was able to get by them.

i was surprised to, but it was a nice cool night....

anyways jun-tw claimed 234whp on a Bosch dyno with their 250 6speed and headers with high flo cats and full cat back. if i got 215whp i'll be more then happy........patiently waiting mazzuri's......

Agreed! 2IS weighs a lot and the power to weight ratio isn't cutting it for the 250, that's why I only have appearance mods.

for about $4000 more you can get the IS350. I don't think you can have any mod that is less than $4000 and make your IS250 to 300hp, 100 more hp than stock. That's just no way. If you want to win, you need a bigger engine.
