well the safc been on my car for about 2 years now, i guest its now to somewhat upgrade to the FIC,

SAFC just plays around with fuel, while F/IC intercept fuel injector signals and also lets you adjust MAF, o2, and ignition timing.

theoretically, F/IC can add/remove fuel without the stock ECU fighting back, simply because it will fool the stock ECU to think everything is within the MAF's readings. By modifying o2 sensor signals, you can also trick the ECU into thinking it's in "good shape" when in fact you have more air entering the engine and AFR going through a very wide range.

People have been able to make the F/IC work without CELs and tune without stock ECU compromising anything. Just depends on how good of a tuner is working with the F/IC.

Also, FIC allows you to only retard timing, no advancing. This may seem to be an disadvantage but in fact it's a huge advantage, simply because you cannot blow your engine just for adding timing.

it's a phenomenal piggyback.

also, my.is store is closed. They closed on the day right after i ordered my patch harness....which means i'm set back for another week.

Looks awesome!! I love reading the garage engineering threads!

I did have one question, where do you source the universal piping? I have an idea for my GS and I want to fabricate some stuff using 3" piping. TIA!

this totally sucks....damnit...you guys keep tempting me with these NA-T's....and for cheap too...1200 for a kit and my wrenching time...well thats putting it mildly....lol...I'm also tempted to buy a 85-87 Grand National and use that for my turbo obsession instead of my GS..haha

xspower comes with 2.5" and 3" universal piping with couplers and t-bolts. ebay has them as well. so far, there isn't a custom fit ge-t piping for the gs yet.
