Damn that's sweet! the r154 is a strong tranny, i used to beat the **** out of mine. I've got 2 question though, How will you get the speedo to work since the r154 only has a manual cable not electronic? Will the stock speedo work with the ecu running off the r154 speed sensor?

Hey man.. did you ever think of the rear Diff?????
cuz its an Auto Tranny diff.. and if you fit a Manual Transmission Gearbox... wont it kindof die a little bit.. ??!?!?!
will this affect ur tranny conversion possitivly or negativly ???
cuz i was inches away from converting my ARISTO with a 1jzgte 5 speed gear box... its reasonably priced.. and longer ratios than the 6 speed !
soo plz share with us info about the Diff !
thnx dude..loads of Good luck !

No problem with the speedo, the GS300 gets its speed sensor from the ABS system not the transmission.
I have a TRD LSD but yea its an auto. I had a friend with a 6 speed Supra and a auto rear, 1st gear was pretty short but it wasn't bad. down the line if I can get a 6 speed diff I'll do that. The GS300 uses the same rear end as the Supra.

I just spoke to Rick today, he's welding up the driveshaft, the Haltech engine management is wired up and installed. The only thing left to do is twin Walbros, bolt on the acccessories, finish mocking up the shifter in the car, and fab the intercooler pipes, then tuning.. It should be done next week. I can't wait do drive this thing! 600RWHP on pump gas in a 5 speed manual GS300 is going to be amazing.

I have a question ( i dont know how old this thread is but here it goes) you said you have to lengthen the trans, i see you cut the section out and welded a piece of channel to extend it, but internaly what had to be lengthened so you would be able to shift , doesnt the shifter have a pivot point? whats that connected to now? and what did you use to connect it? it looks to long to work lol, because it doesnt sit over top the tail shaft any more, please please enlighten!!!!
