Exclamation strange throttle responses..

ok so heres the breakdown. I recently installed the K&N Typhoon which I purchased from Lextasy 89. anyway sometimes when I rev the car in park or neutral, the car lurks up to 4.5k-5k rpm and won't go over. this seems to happen almost always when I don't have ECT PWR on. however, even with ECT PWR on my car sometimes chokes while revving. this problem has NEVER occurred during actual driving. but I'm still a bit concerned. I've tried cleaning and reoiling the filter but the results haven't been any better yet . is this normal?

Try resetting the ECU, that might work

hmm ok well I'm just going to keep driving on it. but how would I go about cleaning the sensor just in case? don't want to damage it and I know I can't touch it with my bare hands

This is a pretty old thread but if your in park theres a rev limiter that stops you from going to redilne.
