Default Another 3.76 LSD INSTALLED!

Well, I picked up my TT LSD from the freight yard Monday night! Everything looked sweet! After changing out the rearend oil yesterday my mechanic and I followed the DIY and had the thing installed in 45 mins! It's an easy install with a lift and power tools! Went on the first ride last night and everything was pretty good. The only problem I'm having is an occasional pop sound from the rear of the car somewhere. I'm going to put it back up on the lift tomorrow and re-check everything to make sure all the bolts are tight. Did anyone else ever have this problem???? On to my observations about how it drive!

Will spin both wheels with one foot on the brake!

Car feels much faster all around!

Nice Kev! It becomes an even better mod combined with the PI TC. With both of these items and some engine/exhaust mods and you will not need to hold the brake to spin 'em. In fact, you will spin them so badly that you would entertain putting 10" or 10.5" wheels in the rear...which I am currently contemplating. FYI I used Royal Purple Gear Lube, it was referred to me by DaveGS4 and many others on here...it is the best stuff for the diff! GL man with the new setup!

My VB upgrade is going to be here today! I'm getting it installed Friday morning. I'm also going to put in my K&N FIPK this afternoon! Headers will follow in a month or so and then the NEO! I will probably do a custome exhaust some point removing the last cat and make it a trual dual with an x-pipe.

Yes, inside the casing (pumpkin). BTW Royal Purple is also synthetic. It's pretty funny we will both have the same setup (or pretty damn close to it) when both of us are finished with our mods.

After a few days of driving I have noticed this......this is by far the 2nd best mod I've done so far! The best was BBK! I found out what the poping noise was.......I put it in without putting the top bushing on the front of the pumpkin...... it was creating a small vibration which is all now gone! Luckly all I had to do was take the front two bolts out and slide in the bushings! AWSOME MOD! RECCOMENDED TO EVERYONE! This is how our cars should have come from the factory!

The 3:76 upgrade is a great mod for the GS4. That coupled with a PI/TC is just pure bliss . I remember the good o'l fun I used to have with the GS4 That was a fun fast car!

For those that have had their 3.76 LSDs for a while, did you ever have to replace it? How many miles can you put on one? How durable is it?

From what I understand it is very durable. I have put on about 10,000 miles so far but it was a brand new unit when I got it. You should be good to go...

rear diffs don't go bad! Just keep the diff fluid changed about every 30K or so and it will be one of the longest lasting items on your car! will be good for well over 200K

Cool, thanx.

One other question...can you still a full burnout with the 3.76 LSD, or does it only slip for a few seconds, and then the tires hookup?
