So has anyone here installed a lightweight battery in their car yet? If so, how did you go about securing it? I measured the stock battery last night and it's about (L)7 x (W)10.5 x (H)7.

Bumping this old thread. I'm an ES350 owner but this was the only thread I could find that's close to what I'm looking for.

It's time to replace the battery but I want more bang for the buck and take a few lbs off the car while in the process. I found a light weight option but looking at the specs why don't I just get a motor cycle battery? Any thoughts - anyone ever try a light weight option for their 3.5ltr V6 or the V8 in the IS-F?

Here's the light weight option (21lbs) I considered:

And for 26lbs I considered a Optima 8071-167 D51 YellowTop.

My main concern is by changing the battery capacity am I in anyway putting the charging system in jeopardy?

BTW, stock the ES350 from 2007 came with a Panasonic 80D26L-MF Battery. ~43lbs, 70Amp/hr, 630 CCA, 10.25"Lx6.93"Wx8.74" high.

I haven't tried any of the batteries in my IS as I don't drive it very much. Just thought I'd throw out another brand that I have used in the past though without any problems:
