GS300 whp after light mods?

Nah, a 'properly' boosted GS300 will put train lengths on a lot of cars. Properly as in 20psi+ and at least 500hp. A guy in a C5 Z06 vette on the highway from last week experienced that first hand

stock GS300 dyno as done yesterday
with light mods i dont see 200RWHP being out of the question but i want 300+ so forced induction it will be, looking at turbo vs s/c applications on the 2JGE at the moment and havent made up my mind what to go for.
having said that a turbo/s/c 2J would have pulled away failry easily if you were driving one of the cars in ur sig.

I'm in the same boat...

I think it will take a little more than 6-8 psi to make 300whp. There was a guy here that boosted his 2jz with 8psi and only got 260-270whp. You can get without a doubt 300whp out of the 2jz, but it will take more than a low buget kit to do so.

....yeah, adding 120+WHP is NO JOKE! You have to have a nice kit, running a good amount of psi and a good tune. I would just get a GS4XX and mod it with bolt-ons if your just happy hitting close to 300whp. For a NICE turbo/supercharger kit w/ install and tune you will be looking at a spending a lot of $$$. IMHO a GS300 is only better than it's V8 brothers if you are planning on doing "the swap" (performance wise); other than that all the 2nd gen GS are the same - obviously.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG-3qhrW4Pg he had an exhaust leak, but even with that fixed I doubt he can pull another 100whp without further mods.
If I could do it over again I would have opted for the 400. Boost is too much of a hassle with maintanence and crazy gas prices nowadays. I would just go 400 and do all the performance mods out there. Reliable, safe, and on demand power at all times. Plus u get that great V8 rumble.
I wish I would have reasearch a little more and actually called companies before buying the 400. That way I would have known that all the FI set ups for my car were discontinued

it takes 8 psi to make 300 rwhp if you build it properly.

did you already finish your project? what are your numbers?
here is another na-t guy.

i don't have numbers, but i pulled on a stock 350z hard. i'm also running 10psi.
so if 8psi is only 260whp then that means 10 psi would only make a slight difference against a 350z., but that was not the case. 8psi on non-vvti ge w/ 1.3mm HG is a bit under 300whp, vvti ge has higher compression so it should be a bit over 300whp.
these engines have poor VE without FI; the lightest boost makes these engines really go.
He's also local to me, so maybe i'll check out his car sometime. Tune makes all the difference.
