Default Challenge- quietest exhaust w/ best performance?

I'm wanting to upgrade my exhaust for some added performance, not for sound purposes. I love the fact that these cars are quick and don't make a racket when you mash the pedal.

So, which exhaust set up(axle or cat back) would provide the most improvement with only the slighest increase in sound? Thanks.

Replace the stock exhaust manifold and downpipe with a turbo system. Connect to stock exhaust. Connect inlet to stock airbox. Bingo, best performance without noise

Honestly, I doubt you will gain any noticeable performance with any catback. I really am NOT kidding about the turbo

The Tanabe Medallion Touring is very quiet. My GS3 is still quiet, given that I have header/y-pipe and this catback. No resonators, only a hi flow cat and the two big mufflers from the Tanabe catback. Other than that, the engine is bonestock, but these exhaust mods together made a big difference.

Id say greddy evoII or the tanabe medallion. Im leaning towards the tanabe due to the smaller mufflers for my choice in exhaust.

Reduction of backflow, much like an OEM catalytic convertor.

I don't want to lose any low end acceleration or passing power? Would either be compromised by going to Medallion Touring and/or removing resonators? THanks.

OK....I need some help here with noob questions so I can make a decision. My goal is to create a mild but still noticeable improvemnent in mid-range without increasing noise too much or losing low end torque.

1. Will removing resonators improve performance or just increase sound? Aren't the OEM resonators pretty free flowing on this model?
2. What diameter are the OEM pipes on my 2G GS300....2 or 2.25".
3. Would going cat back design(ie, Touring Medallion) provide better acceleration than axle back(ie, Borla).

I've narrowed choices down to Tanabe Touring, Borla, or improvising with larger pipes axle back and Magnaflow 4x9 oval cans with 18" body and Magnaflow tips.

Your thoughts and answers greatly appreciated.

Try to contact members in your area w/ aftermarket exhausts and maybe you can meet up and listen to them in real life. I'm sure not all the youtubes videos are good enough quality to record the actual exhaust note.
