I just bought the generic exhaust hangers. The previous owner of the exhaust I had recommended that I use stiffer hangers. After looking at threads here about it, many people had the opinion that stiffer hangers caused more in cabin vibration; I decided to stick with the stock hangers. That was a mistake. Do it right the first time and use a new hangers. I don't know how stiff new stock ones are. I just took my old one down to autozone and matched up the holes to the new one. They are just generic hangers that you find in the muffler isle.

I'll check into that, how much did the autozone hangers cost?

I just bought the Tanabe Super Medallian Hyper LOVE IT! It's rich and smooth sounding and no droning.......actually at time, I feel it could be a tad louder, but no complaints here! Looks very close to stock except for the stainless steel & highly polished tips.

I do think I need new hangers though cause until I read this I was wondering why I was getting a little more vibration.

$5 each? I don't remember. You have to drill or poke the holes completely though. You should be able to find them at any autoparts store.

any of you guys have a straight on pic and regular profile/side shot of the tanabe medalion touring catback? i have the newer style borla mufflers right now and as everybody knows that has these, the left side sits slightly lower and further out then the right.. its annoying and looks stupid. wondering if the tanabe is the same way?

Yea I have some pics like that, I'll try to post them up tonight when I get home. But my Tanabe MT also sits a slight bit lower and to the side on the driver side. I went to a local tuner shop and they told me that more than likely it was because of the old OEM exhaust hangers, and said they could fix it for about $20 ... I just haven't had the time to go by ...

Thats funny. My Hyper Medallion had the same issue on the same side. Muffler shop just cut behind the can and aligned it. Looks better now.

I think its a common problem with a lot of aftermarket exhaust's.
When we had a big GS meet last year, a lot of us were talking about it.
One memebers HKS was had that problem. My hyper medalion is like that also.

Thanks for the compliment, they are made by iForged, the model is the "Trial" in the Precision Series. The wheels in the picture are 20".
