Borla claims 7 to 15% increase in hp. Is it true?
I pulled the trigger and ordered a borla axleback and I read on borla's site that the axleback for our cars makes 7 to 15%. How bad is borla pulling our leg? Or is there some truth to this? I could rationalize it in my mind. Our stock exhaust is so quiet that it could posibly be holding back some horses. Anyone who has this system on a GS4 please comment on before and after SOTP feeling and anyone who may have dyno'ed before and after please share. Thanks

You will definitely not gain 7-15% with the borla. Maybe if you get a Borla full exhaust for a mustang or something, but the Borla for our cars are just axle-backs. It's basically a muffler replacement. Even the piping is the same size as the OEM pipe.

No way, 1 - 2hp is more like it at best. No SOTP but sounds great.
I'd recommend you search this forum for BORLA, loads of threads on that exhaust here
I'd also like to read where they made that claim specifically about our cars? Got a link?

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and no one really mentioned anything about sotp impressions. In the borla catalogue they state up to 10%. You have to download the catalogue from their site and the info is on page 12. I think I saw the 7 to 15% in autoparts warehouse catalogue. Nice to know that it sounds good though. Looks real nice too. My stock exhaust is rusting out so it is advantageous for me whether it makes more power or not. Just wishful thinking on the added power.
