Arrow Anyone interested in having the F-Sport Intake dyno'd?

I just ordered the F-Sport intake for my bone-stock IS350, and (along with everyone else) am curious what the HP increase will be.

I found a local dyno shop who will do 3 dyno pulls (1 baseline, and 2 pulls after the intake is installed) for $90.

As this will be public information once the results are in, I would like to see if anyone would like to assist me in this by donating (via paypal) for the dyno runs. I will incur any additional deductions Paypal may have (if any).

I figured if we get 9 people to donate $10, then we'll do it.

Who's interested?

That's pretty pricey for a dyno.... if you can find a local dyno day with a group of folks going you can often get the same 3 pulls for $55 - $60.

I'm also not quite sure how I feel about asking for donations.... I definitely am glad to see interested parties chipping in to help out, but doing it of their own volition - not being asked to do it as a criteria before getting the dyno done.

Just spoke to an Eli at the shop I contacted earlier (JDM Motorsports in Miami.) He states that they usually do that kind of pricing for groups 10+ for 3 pulls.

He did tell me the best they can do is $80 (1-3 car pricing)...unless any of you guys know of somewhere cheaper here in Miami.

I'd continue to search if $$$ is a big factor - just google dyno day Miami and you'll find stuff going on and tag along with another group. OR start a post in the FL forum here on CL to see if others are interested in doing a group dyno or have ideas where to go.

Just missed this one, but got rained out - maybe they'll reschedule ($40)

This would have been ideal ($35) but was in March. Not sure how far from you.

Might try calling those shops / others you find and tell them you missed the dyno day and see what they can do on pricing or ask when the next group is.

If you can, try to get one pull after the car has been driven around for a while. Then we can see if the higher underhood temps of the air being sucked into that hole affects power or not.

We'll we pretty much know what a stock is350 can do. All we need is 1 pull with the intake installed. 2 at the max.

For the apples-to-apples comparo, they recommended 1 baseline pull and 2 after the intake is installed.

It's not that the money is a big factor, but back when I was on S2KI, if there were a number of people that were interested in a newer part, we'd come together and do a similar money raise to help out the member doing the dyno testing for all of us. Usually between 10 members, it wasn't that big of a deal.
