I just poked around, and found this-
http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=247826
Read post #10 where a guy discovered they charged him for a blank chip
Also found this-
http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=144424
Guy pays for programming from JET and finds they didn't actually do anything but slap a sticker on his ECU
So this might be the kind of "mod" they're offering for the ISx50 too.

I just called jet today, and they said that they do reprogram our new IS's and the claims are true.
I am broke right now but in a couple of weeks I am going to head down to their locaton in Huntington Beach and try it out. Cost is $399.00 Will take 2 hours.
If someone else goes before I can let me know how it went.

Ah, I knew that name sounded familiar. I think its safe to say no one should give "Jet" any money. I dont want to pay hundreds of dollars for a sticker. I cant believe they are still in business. No wonder they are the only people who offer ECU mods for the IS, because they dont actually do anything

Thanks for the heads up.
I would still like to go down to there office and see what they got. Maybe they can prove to me that they have been able to modify the ECU.
Sucks though I was all excited about this ****.

Everyone hates on companies that come out with new mods for our cars, yet everyone complains that there's no aftermarket for our cars.
Not trying to defend the company, because if they did do those things then that's just wrong.
But, we need to prove to the aftermarket that there's interest in parts for the car. If not, we can expect nothing.

Jet also disabled the boost cut in the Supra ECM and claimed they'd done something special when in fact they'd done nothing special at all.
They've been a rip-off for more than 10 years. It's amazing they're still in business.

I emailed Jet yesterday regarding the re-flash, and this was their response:
We do have an ECU upgrade available for your application. Since your ECU does not have an easily replaceable chip we do require that the ECU be sent to us for programming. Our ECU upgrade kit contains everything needed to pack and ship the ECU to us and includes complete instructions, ECU location chart and our programming specification sheet that you fill out so we know what upgrades have been done to the vehicle. Next day air shipping is included in 48 states only. Call JET for shipping rates to other locations. The part # to fit your vehicle is 65002, which retails for $399.00. The kit is available through JET directly or through any of our dealers.
Once we receive your ECU it will be programmed according to the vehicle specification sheet to optimize the fuel and timing curves for your specific modifications. For best results the ECU upgrade should be done after you complete all of your other upgrades so we can program specifically for them. We also recommend using at least 89 octane fuel due to the modified ignition advance. Horsepower gains will vary depending on how the vehicle is modified, but average gains are 8-10 horsepower to the drive wheels. If you have any questions you can reach our tech department toll free at 800-535-1161. Our hours are M-F, 8-5 PST.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if you gained 8-10 hp switching from low to high octane on a car already programmed FROM THE FACTORY to use at least 91.
By the way, I googled the part number-
http://www.fasterthanthem.com/produc...&cat=0&page=54
It's for an 00-02 Audi.
Or wait... it's for a Nissan!
http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/200...chip-info.html
No...then again... it's for a Mazda!
http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86846
Oh, no, I meant a Subaru!

this has SCAM all over it in massively large letters.
