I never said there were additional gains. Im saying the 310 spent is worth it bc of everything you are getting. Also, the FSport Airbox gives that added sound that the stock airbox cannot w/joez.

If you cut a hole in the OEM air box (Just like the F-Sport air box) the sound should be very close. You will be negating the ram air effect.

Do you guys think the sound will be different if I cut a 3 1/2" perfect round circle in my air box, instead of just cutting a square hole??

I dont think it will sound different between holes. I think there would be more surface area with a square hole then a circle.

^ I don't think you guys realized I was not serious..

But on a serious note, the only time you will have an issue with your warranty, is if their is a problem with the intake box or intake system..

Seriously, if there is a hole in the F-Box and you cut a hole in your OEM box , what kinda of warranty issues do you think you might have...
??

In my honest OPINION..... none... !

I don't think this is true. If anything, you will get MORE of a ram air effect, because you will have air moving from the grill into the front hole of the intake.

What I did in my old car is take out the whole bottom airbox altogether and silicone glued the frame of the K&N drop in filter onto the airbox lid and double secured with duct tape. Then took a sealed the intake area off from the rest of the engine bay with my own heat shield I fabricated myself out of thick cardboard and insulation from home depot. Then I routed 2 lengths of flexible dryer duct tubes from the grill area to the front of the k&n thought 2 cut holes in the shield then zip tied and string tied it all down. Super ghetto but worked great. Maybe one day if I'm bored enough I'll try that again with this car. It probably will work better than all these $$$ intakes out right now. LOL
