Default Spark Plugs?

I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but I was wondering if any of you tried gaining some power by changing plugs? There are so many Spark Plugs for many applications. Cold Irridium plugs for lean mixtures, hot burning plugs for rich mixtures.

Since we can't do much to our A/F mixture I am assuming we are running rich. so Denzo has some Hot burning plugs, and there is also Pulsestar.

What do you guys think.

Well then if no one has any real opinions I will have to try out some hot burning plugs for myself.

Hotter plugs won't increase power unless the stock plugs are fouling out. If anything, colder plugs could increase power if your car is currently retarding timing due to minor detonation from low octane fuel or hot climate. However, the last time I checked, there isn't a compatible plug in a colder heat range.

Autolite has Iridium plugs out.
I thought Denzo did but they don't for our cars.

I did some research on this a while back. A "hotter" plug is available but there is no advantage as this would probably decrease the engine performance.

I bought Pulsestar Spark Plugs Last week and I put them in this weekend.
I have only had them in for 2 days but I have driven 150 miles on them. So far they seem great. Right off the bat I noticed a difference in get up and go in low RPMS. Typically on my 250 I don't get the feeling of to much power until I get up past 4000 rpms. Now I feel the power is more even through out my acceleration.
My Butt Dyno is telling me that I have more power. Just a warning these plugs are expensive. Very expensive, but my personal experience is that I am getting better performance out of the PulseStar's compared to the Denso irridiums that come with our cars.

a bit off topic but how are your headers performing on your car? very noticeable gains? 25hp could def be ofhelp for these 250s

No. Heat range has nothing to do with outside air temperature.

I've never seen a sparkplug make more power on any engine unless there was a fundamental tuning issue with the engine. Resolving the tuning problem always fixes the problem at the source instead of masking it with a "special" sparkplug.

You might want to read this before making claims about "magic sparkplugs." Sorry, but you've been flim-flammed.

You don't think a colder plug could be beneficial for cars that run 20+ degrees hotter (coolant temp) because of extremely hot climate?
