Facing a dilemma with performance parts

find a new girl. a relationship won't last if she doesn't at least understand your passion for cars. anyone i was ever with that didn't understand why i wanted to spend so much money on a car, i didn't keep around for long, it wasn't worth the hassle.
modding cars is who i am and what i do, i won't change and that's just how it is. i realize you probably aren't as crazy as i am, but still, if she tells you not to do this to your car which you pay for, what else will she tell you to do or not do in the future?

It's your car, do what you want. She'll just have to understand that it's something that guys are likely to do. Hell, I'm 51 years old and the first thing I did was put 20's on my IS. Next is coilovers. If my better half doesn't like it, then she doesn't have to ride in my car

She's a gf, not your wife. Unless you guys have a future together, then all she can do is provide an opinion. If she leaves you because of this, then she'll be a handful later on in life. She'll have to deal with your hobby/passion. If not, start pointing out her spending habits.

Lately, I've been pondering a couple of key upgrade components for the IS250 performance---Tanabe exhaust and the Joe-Z.
Me, I want them now after members replies and research. Even some of my friends support my decision. Here comes the ice-breaker: my gf doesn't want me to put them on!!!! She loves my car the way it is and will consider me immature for spending all that money for something that makes the car loud and obnoxious (in her own words).
Have you guys been in this situation before? If so, how do you work around this? Give up or try to persuade her? How would I persuade her? If I were single, those parts are as good as mine.
