i just called up a lexus dealership in so-cal and they said they don't sell the right canister by itself (That's TOO BAD) That woulda been the best option for the people that wish to interchange the F-Sport with the Lexus HKS when they wish there exhaust sound louder.

I totally agree with you though that the Lexus HKS exhaust make quite some noise at the low RPM, unfortunately it sounds pretty weak once it goes above 3000 RPM or higher, the sucky part is even my friend's Stock G35's exhaust sound louder than my Lexus HKS Dual exhaust. Maybe I will have to look into the F-Sport intake to make up for the sound. Sigh, but exhaust sound will always be different than intake sound...

I just wish there's a way to just reversible modification we can all do to the Lexus HKS dual exhaust to make it sound like the F-Sport or know a place that can sell just the right canister....any ideas guys?!?

FYI, please don't say stuff like go get a HKS Hi Power exhaust or other brands, cuz that's not what i'm interested in hearing. Thanks, please respect that - there's a reason why we (People who owns the Lexus HKS) paid $1500 for an exhaust that doesn't sound like a rice rocket

I have a question! So is a straight pipe better than none? Than basically the F-sport is a single exhaust with a hole? Because I'm still deciding whether or not if I should get the Lexus HKS or F-sport because they're identically physically the same but the Lexus HKS is less loud and has no right side straight pipe while F-sport is louder and has right side straight pipe. Help!

I prefer to quieter Lexus HKS exhaust, and here's why. Yea, everyone likes loud exhaust, but in terms of resale, the typical buyer of a Lexus is older in age, and would be less likely to buy a car that has a loud exhaust when it was originally designed to be a quiet luxury car. I think resale potential will decrease with the IS-F exhaust, and yea you can keep the originals, but now we are talking installation time/cost, and having to store OEM parts.

The "Lexus HKS" is NO Longer sold new via the Lexus Parts Depts...

Part# PT916-53060 was superseded by part# PTR08-53091 (F-Sport w/Logo)

The only way to find or purchase the "Lexus HKS" systems, will be used..

Joe,

Is the Y-pipe the same design and fitment for both exhaust? I just got my o-ring gaskets for both ends of the mid pipe flanged ends but they do not fit.

Does the o-rings look like this?

Thanks!

Not sure..
I never had either of these exhausts side by side to compare their hardware or o-ring gaskets

Show me a pic of where you are trying to install them....

Wow I must have gotten lucky! I bought my car with the Lexus HKS already on it. It's a 2008 IS350. I do have to say that I was really worried about the exhaust but after owning the car for a year I can tell you that the Lexus HKS is far superior than any other IS exhaust system out there. It's a shame they no longer make it. The F Sport sounds too raspy for me at high rpms, almost like a Honda. The Lexus HKS sounds smmoth and controlled all the way through the powerband. It sounds simply amazing when the windows are rolled down.

I have the same exhaust. it's perfect for this car, not too loud nor quiet.

I might go with the F-sport since HKS is no longer available. How much does it cost to have F-sport exhaust installed?

I live in SoCal BTW.
