AFAIK you're only looking about a 2 hp difference between versions... the main advantage of the street version is it might have a shot at fooling a visual inspector from noticing you're running an illegal exhaust system. (there's also a sound difference, but Joe Z himself has described it as slight, the race version being slightly louder)

Yes it will work... There is an IS in this thread with a larger Rear lip kit..
The flanges can be loosened and adjusted by turning up or down to raise or lower the exhaust tips.

Define emissions.
It's 100% illegal in all 50 states. That's why both versions have the disclaimer "For offroad use only" on em.
But it'll pass a "sniffer" test just fine. Engines are so clean these days you could probably remove the exhaust entirely and pass a sniffer test.
It should pass an OBD-2 test too as it doesn't mess with the O2 sensors or anything.
Anyone doing a visual check competently will outright fail the race version for missing cats.
Anyone doing a visual check who really knows what he's doing will fail the "street" version for removing the original cats.
Anyone doing a visual check and not paying much attention (which is most inspectors) will pass it.

Why would an emissions place, in say Texas, fail you because you removed the OEM exhaust and replaced it with a catalyzed variant that passes safety, sniffer/OBD-2?
How is this "off-road use only" if it passes emissions?

Because it's not the OEM system with the intended cat's.
Off Road Use Only is a way of protecting a manufacture's ***.
That being said, I would take a chance as the exhaust looks top quality! Yet I don't have testing here in Kentucky!
