HI98GS, all the cams out there for 2JZ are non-vvti. BC is the first company ever to make a set of cams that fit the VVTi series 2JZ engines. There are people that machine the non-VVTi camshafts so it will work in the GE head, but that involves more work and in the end you lose VVTi. With the BC solution, you can keep VVTi with a more aggressive cam profile. With the correct tuning, some people have managed to get more low and midrange torque while spooling up the turbo quicker as well.

What are you gonna use to control the VVT-i when you go single turbo?

I'm already single turbo. I'm upgrading to a much bigger turbo soon. I run the engine with an AEM EMS. The EMS can control the VVTi as well.

Learned something new. Thanks

I'll stick to something that I am familiar with, like the 1UZ FE. I am getting to know firsthand how complex and expensive this motor is to build.

Updated, finally got the cams in. Check the first post for pix. Gonna throw them in tonight and do some tuning

I'll try to get some pictures of the whole install process.
