Wouldnt it be possible to have a piggy back system to run the super charger because i think to have any of these supercharger systems that includes Toms and LMS you had to do some kind of modding to the ECU and a piggy back system would achieve that wouldnt it?

<-- noob when it comes to turbos s/c or anything with the engine. So this just an amature idea

TOMs has an ECU upgrade but you have to send it back to Japan. I dont see why HKS cant do this?

Read the fine print. You need a JDM car and a JDM ECU to do this. They won't modify a US spec car/ECU no matter where you send it.

As to a piggyback, none exist for this car that can do anything other than A/F tuning. You'd need to adjust timing and whatnot for forced induction.

But even if you COULD do that... the TOMs kit in Japan which DOES modify the ecu only increases boost from the 5 lbs of the LMS kit to the 5.8 lbs of the TOMs kit.

Wow... a whole 0.8 pounds more boost.

Do whatever you want to the ECU, you're not gonna run a ton of boost on a 12:1 compression engine, especially not with the stock internals.

I've just deleted over 30 posts from this thread. Let's try and stay on topic here gang. This isn't the 'supercharger vs. turbo' thread, nor is a debate about the cost effectiveness or merits of boosting your car. Keep the posts about the HKS supercharger or start a new thread.

It's not for anything if you live in the US.

And I doubt it's anywhere close to worth it for the gains in overseas markets either, none of the other supercharger kits have been.

Not really, no.

You'd have to find one that not only could control the direct injectors (and the port injects as well on the 350) but could also talk to all the other sensors and ECUs in the vehicle.

To my knowledge no such thing exists.

Did you read the -rest- of the thread?

The part where they explain that isn't what it is at all?

It's just a service where they reflash your stock ECU. And ONLY a JDM ECU. And it's mainly so you can see some benefit to running 100 octane with their supercharger kit. Even then it's a small benefit (you can run 5.8 lbs instead of 5 like LMS kit does on the stock ECU with 91 octane)

And again, for JDM cars only.
