Just an update to my build. So I have had a pretty smooth build up until 1 week ago when I was notified by the machine shop that one of the sleeves was cracked
. So I decided to have the problem cylinder resleeved. It seems that in the process, somehow, 2 more sleeves were noted to be cracked![Mad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
. It looked as if the boring process on the other 2 sleeves seemed to have caused a circumferential crack by the lip. It wasn't vertical as you would expect from piston/compression damage. So since I am so well into the build, instead of taking my current block, which is still in my car and running pefectly fine, I decide to really jump off the deep end and resleeve the whole block. From what I gather, and from my past experience with other motor builds, this should make the bottom end pretty much bullet proof (I hope).
The crank was rebalanced. That was another headache for the machinist because he actually had to fill the "holes" on the crank that were created to balance the crank at the factory and redo the balancing process. How weird. I trust the shop as they have built many other jobs for me and my friends.
Rods and pistons were matched and balanced to the crank. So I would say that this block has been "blue printed and balanced" as extreme as any build that I have been involved with.
The block should be ready by next week. Then hopefully the build can move forward
!!
Lastly, I have some pics of something that went smoothly. I ceramic coated my valve covers. Yeah I could have powder coated em, but I liked the idea that the valve covers were ceramic coated and could resist heat since they were so close to the exhaust manifold which was putting out a crazy amount of heat even with ceramic coating and some header wrap. This coating is rated to handle up to 2000 Degrees F. So I think I got the heads "covered" LOL

Yeah I have totally lost my mind on this one. I am still waiting for the resleeved block to get back from the shop. That's why I haven't talked to you in a long time. Saving up my pennies to get this job started and done. If I called you, then more money out of my pockets, and less for my project. Don't worry, as soon as I am done with this, I am sure I will give you a call to get the exterior "up to date"
