+1...that's what I was trying to convey to the OP, but even before that, it should have a top to enclose that entire area.

Its colder air from the front of the car...I drove 30 mins today on the hwy at about 80mph. When I got gas I checked it.

The area behind the air box is hot (as it should be)...the area in front of the air box behind the headlights, where the new inlet is...much much cooler.

Look...I'm not telling you to take a hole saw to your air box. I did, and I noticed a difference. Even more so now with the K&N.

Im guesstimating an extra 1mpg. I've got the extra tube if you want....PM me your info. I'll throw it in the snail mail gratis.

(Tube going to masboy...get another testimony on this DIY here.)
