Default Tundra supercharger: BOLT ON to 1UZ

Supercharger/Forced induction:
I picked up a TRD Tundra 2uzfe supercharger last week. I know it physically bolts on, but have not run through the full installation issues.

Well what's the story with this one? can it be done cost effectively? Would be nice to have a TRD supercharged GS!!!! It should have been an option!!!

Problems I've run into:
Hood clearance, after trimming the inside braces, I needed roughly 2" extra toward the front of the Throttle body.
To get a smaller area on the Throttle body, I went with the Tundra TB. A GS430 would have worked, but a Tundra one was available.
Tundra piggyback ECU is presumed to not work with my application after speaking to the TRD guys.

I'm going to run the AEM F/IC for the additional injectors and timing control. If that keeps it safe, then I'll leave it as is. If it's too much, I'll look at under drive pulleys or a larger SC pulley to slow the SC down until I can build the engine.
10 characters. read the link guys.

You can bolt on a tundra S/C, but non of the other stuff will work, ECU, injector, etc...
Not to mention they are no longer being made.

yeah, electronics won't work but at least it bolts up mechanically. the other hard thing is sourcing one like you said.

Considering how many 1UZFE motors there are out there, I have never understood why there isnt a basic bolt-on SC available. A kit that bolts on with hand tools and works with the stock ECU would be popular. I know the Millen kit was discontinued, but that was like $4500 plus installation.

The supercharger nose/pulley also interferes with the "water neck" (coolant)
near the top engine serpentine belt pulley.

Fuel management is a concern, as he mentioned. The relatively high (10.5/1)
compression of the 1UZ means they ping a bit with the blower installed.

I nearly did this a few years ago with the help of the TRD USA staff.
The TRD guys had used this blower on the 4.0 in a marine application!

The 4.7 liter V8 superchargers are no longer available as new.

eek, pinging is scary. and i forgot about compression ratio....forced induction on a 10.5:1 is scary.

i guess if you want power, the GS300 NA-T is the cheapest route up to a certain point.

Two posts above yours you can read that the TRD 4.7L V8 supercharger kit was no longer available new at the time of the post. This thread is from 2008. That's 16 years ago.

its your lucky day, there is actually a complete, brand new, TRD supercharger kit currently listed in the marketplace. It's kinda pricey though!
