It sounds kind of crazy but it “may” be more beneficial to warm up the fuel rather then cool it down. The DI has such a great cooling effect in the combustion chamber that I would not consider making the fuel any cooler prior to injection. Maybe that is one of the reasons that the mech. fuel pump is mounted to the cylinder head
