Default Royal Purple Oil

Is it true that royal purple full synethic oil can increase our car horsepower by 3?

Personally, I think any hp claims from just swapping out your oil is negligible. Even if it were true, do you think you're gonna feel 3hp?

I think that if you can manage to get a good synth oil on the cheap (like Mobil 1), you'll do just as good.

You'll have a hard time feeling the difference even with the 10 hp gain let alone 3 hp. If you want to use Synthetic, you are more than ok with Mobil 1.

I just use Mobile 1. I guess you can try them and get them dynoed to see :-P but that would be if you've got money to spend and time. But still it's almost a moot point with 3 hp.

+1 i use amsoil euro blend for my a4 my oil runs 15 degrease cooler than mobil 1 ( my a4 has a oil temp gauge) my mpg improoved and the engines is quieter too. i also do a seafoam treatment every 3k through the vac lines in the tank and pour half a botle in to the oil pan 100 miles before oil changes

Slick50 does all that too, but I wouldn't run it in my street engine.

I have seen 3hp gains in motorcycle engines from just using quality synthetics over petro oils.
