Default GS 430 turbo?

Hello,

this is my first post and i have been lurking in this forum for while. I have 01 lexus gs 430 with 94k miles. It is stock for now and will have many good mods to it.

What kind of turbo do you recommend and how much it would cost all together?

I prefer twin turbo rear mounted. also this is not going to be first mod to my lexus but i need to get idea about turbos.

+1, if you have to ask what you need to TT or even turbo a 430, you probably can't afford it anyways.

i believe a supercharger may be in your best interest. both monetary and simplicity constraints considered.

in that case, contact swift racing, and ask them for a ballpark figure of either. if i remember correctly, the s/c kit will run you about 6k all said and done. compare that to their custom twin turbo setup that they will definitely make for you if you can back it with funds, but not even close to... shall we say... fiscally responsible?

oh, btw, forget about remote mounting the turbos. the way that type of system works is only compatible with firebirds and camaros because of the lack of 'componentry' (new word ) between the frame rails. our GS's are one heavy pig, and have lots of fuel lines/brake lines/fuel tank (19gal)/cables and all that good stuff to make a remote mount turbo or TT setup feasible.

alright, i decided to forget turbos and supercharger.

i am going for headers, TQ converter, trans cooler, drop in filter (oil free), catback mufflers maybe tanabe or magnaflow, Cats ( magnaflow free flowing cats), and many things that involves in performance than the looks.

haha, i didnt state clearly, I meant to say that it works BEST with those cars, not to imply that it ONLY works with them. It is possible, it'd just take a lot more work on a GS430.

If you want bang for your buck, there's NOTHING wrong with a supercharger at ALL. do all that stuff and throw an s/c in there and you'll have a legitimate beast on your hands, but be careful with the trans, stock ones are only safe to about 350hp

I agree--turbos are sa-weet, but for the 430 jsut isn't realistic unless your a real gearhead that can figure out how to build your own kit cheap. Swift Racing (SRT) and maybe JP Imports (Texas?) would be able to help you out with a supercharger--give them a call. ICharger from Austrailia was supposed to come out with a kit, but he rarely answers e-mails and the kit's been "in development" for a long time... Sucks, 'cause I was holding out for this.

The actual and only kit available for a GS4xx is a turbo kit. An S/C would actually have to be fabricated in shop and yes, there is nothing wrong with S/C on a GS4xx. That is one of the cheapest ways to go FI if you don't want to rear mount.
