Default F sport Intake /Tanabe Exhaust - Question

Hi,

I would like to know which one is louder or are they both the same.

1. F Sport intake with stock exhaust.

or

2. Stock intake with Tanabe Touring Medallion exhaust.

I am selling my Tanabe and considering on getting the F sport intake but don't really want too much noise in the cabin. If it's just as much noise as having a Tanabe exhaust then I prefer to just keep my stock intake. If it's a little bit louder than stock then I wouldn't mind trying it out.

Thanks...

It's hard to compare. The F-sport intake kind of takes over where the Tanabe stops......

The best way to describe is the following:
Next time you are doing a quick acceleration, listen for the high pitch engine whine / lack of exhaust note after about 3-4K rpm. That high pitch whine will become a very nice grunt once you put the intake on.

The intake adds a very lovely sounding growl under the engine, mostly when under hard acceleration. IMO, it's not obnoxious, but if you're trying NOT to have any more noise inside the cabin, then I would probably NOT buy the intake.

but, that intake noise is minimized if you drive "normally". It's only when you give it a good romp on the pedal that the car comes alive..

I had my F-Sport intake before my tanabe exhaust.

With the stock exhaust, you can't even tell you have an intake if you drive normally, but when you floor it above 3.5K RPMs, the intake comes alive. Since you want minimal cabin noise, I think the F-Sport intake with your stock exhaust is perfect. With just an intake alone, you have more control of the sound coming from your car.

Here's a lil sound clip of the F-Sport intake I made recently from another member...

BTW, the owner of the F-Sport intake in that video is planning to sell it according to this thread....

You might want to PM him if you're interested, it's not listed yet.

LOL..the above link is my car..
and yes..there are in 99% new..lol..1% depreciated cuz I drove less than 50 miles..and it's off and getting ready to be in the market..

for OP..
the F-sport intake might be your best choice if you don't want too much sound in your cabin..it's louder than the Stock one, and you'll definitely notice it after 3k RPM..
