Default Just installed F-Sport Intake....

I just installed my F-Sport Intake. Couple of thoughts....

My K&N Typhoon intake got replaced with the F-Sport Intake. Reason I changed is that I noticed a bit of a lag in throttle. Just seemed hesitant to be pushed so I got the F-Sport. I loved the sound of the K&N though.

My initial thought is that the F-Sport did improve my throttle but the sound is missing. It's not as loud as my K&N. I'm not sure if I need to break it in but we'll see in a few days.

Was the K&N a Cold Air Intake?

Yes, well kinda...K&N states it as cold air, but it's a short ram so I'm not sure if that's considered a cold air intake when it's sucking all the hot air from the engine...

It's not an open filter intake like the K&N, Fujita, Injen, or any of that sort. The only time that it's going to be loud is when you floor it or when you're in a lower gear and the rpm start going to 3300 or so and up.

your F-sport will not get any louder,,trust me..lol
and I agree with OP
I noticed the better throttle response with F-sport but the deep sound was missing
so I put back my Injen..

I bought mine for the sound. I probably won't get exhaust because this gives the perfect amount of sound when I need it. I don't want the added drone and noise from an exhaust.

ofcourse... this is my first car that has had a full intake .. K&N drop-ins have been what i used to always get.. they satisfied what i wanted... the SRT intake for the GS comes with the lil chip that u wire in to remap ur fuel.. thats what urged me to buy it.. and the power claims... in my opinion its too loud but is a great power adder

^I'm sorry but
I think most people here buy their Intake for the SOUND because
these intakes don't really add any performance gain
it will probably add 1~3 hp, so people usually look for the BEST sound
and for me..Injen is the BEST..F-sport the SECOND..lol

LOL... thats a funny thing to say... with our cars ESPECIALLY a 250 you DON'T buy a intake for performance... thats for sure you DO buy it for sound, same as a catback *axleback* exhaust, for sound only. You can put as big a pipe as you like on the intake tube but if you dont increase the size of the throttle body (same as not having headders/midpipe on the exhaust side) your not really gaining nething substantial... its about the bottlenecks restricting flow.
