Default Looking to get a new intake system...help!

Ok...I really don't want to lose too much low end putting on an intake so...

1. What can I do/buy if I want to keep my stock box but just change my filter?
2. Can I just buy a JOEZ pipe and bolt on to the stock box and rock it like that or no?!
3. What would be the best system to do if I wanted some gain but a deep throttle sound when accelerating?

*Any websites or deals would be helpful...I'm pretty craps when modding cars since its my first! But I'm learning!

1) There are some filters like K&N if u simply want to change the filter, but most doubt that really helps.
2) Yes that is what Joez Pipe is for.
3) The best system to do if you want a very slight gain (1-5rwhp...5 given its a perfect day), but also having a deep growl while accelerating is the F-Sport Intake or simply using a JoeZ Pipe and modifying the stock box.

any system will give you a deep growl.

some are just louder than others.

only 1 has factory warranty but, a gigantor price tag including installation to keep that warranty

only one is just an improvement on the original design but won't make much more sound and still retains the CAI rating

that pretty much sums it up.

search youtube or other threads on this sub forum to take a listen on the other intakes.

come out to meets and hear them for yourself and choose.

we can't really choose for you, you know?

Nothing (sane) that you do to your intake will make any difference whatsoever in performance that a human can actually notice.

The Joe Z or F-sport however will retain the stock airbox design rather than sucking hot air like most of the other intakes.

The Joe Z is a bit over $100 but it won't add a ton of noise unless you drill the airbox to look like the F-sport one (there's a thread with pics of folks who have done this and it's perfectly safe to do)

The F-sport can be had around $225 plus shipping with the MS cashback deal on Ebay... it's the exact same thing as the Joe Z but comes with an already drilled airbox (a replacement bottom with another hole in it) and a filter.

Ignore the warranty issue entirely, unless you install it with a sledgehammer it'll be totally irrelevant to your warranty.

Default Thanks!

I just bought my F-Sport on live.com with the cashback incentive...it was only 20% but hey...something is better than nothing! With the cash back I got it for about $250 shipped to 808! And I just recently sold a car part to another member here so that was like a benjamin in my pocket so basically I got my intake for $150...not bad! If I can sell some other stuff...I'll be having a free intake for x-mas!!! So how does this intake sound to those who already are rocking this?!?! Pretty good or can hardly tell?!

You'll notice a definite increase in sound around 3.5k RPM

I currently using F-Sport Intake and very happy with this system.

I can manage the sound by RPM. The F-Sport intake will scream when you drive over 3.5 RMP. The sound is very good.

AFAIK the Live deal is over on ebay... so your cheapest cost is likely gonna still be Ebay, but without the extra 25% off... so like $315-ish shipped. (which IMHO is high enough to just skip the F-sport and get the Joe Z with a filter).
